Wellness Committee’s: Bite’s of Balance- Avocado

Welcome to a new edition of Bites of Balance!

Each month, the Wellness Committee will be sharing a fruit or veggie recipe inspired by the Florida Department of Agriculture’s seasonal produce guide. Adding more fruits and veggies into our diet boosts vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants, helping support digestion, heart health, and immunity. This isn’t about dieting or changing how you eat, it’s about small ways we can all nourish our bodies – one bite at a time.

This month, we’re spotlighting the avocado! Avocados are rich in nutrients and deeply rooted in Latin American history and cuisine. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re spotlighting three traditional avocado-based recipes that reflect the vibrant traditions and flavors of Hispanic cultures.

Fun fact: Avocado’s are actually large berries and contain more potassium than bananas (a key nutrient for heart health and blood pressure regulation).

Download these recipes and give them a try! Submit a photo of yourself preparing or enjoying one of these mango recipe’s by October 20th for a chance to be entered into a raffle for $20 in Incentco Points! Email photo(s) to Wellness@royalamerican.com.

Have a favorite family recipe or a healthy dish that’s part of your culture? We’d love to hear from you! Share it with us at wellness@royalamerican.com (If your recipe includes a fruit/veggie it might be featured next!)
