With 24 years of service at First Service, I take pride in my achievements and the company’s role in supporting my career journey. Here’s a look into how my path with First Service began:
My roots were deeply embedded in a community-centric upbringing. Born and raised in Panama City, Florida, my educational journey began and continued in my hometown, eventually leading me to Gulf Coast Community College. In 1987, I embarked on a transformative chapter of my life by moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia after marrying a Navy sailor. This period marked the beginning of numerous challenges and opportunities for growth in my roles as a woman, mother, and employee. After experiencing life in various states due to military-related relocations, my journey led me back to Panama City in 2000. Today, March 27th, marks the first anniversary of our Panama City RAMP graduates!
In 2022, these ambitious residents joined Rising Apartment Management Professionals (RAMP), RAM’s tuition-free property management training program. The program’s unique blend of virtual instruction, classroom learning, and on-the-job training through paid internships has proven to be a recipe for success. As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize the hard work and dedication of our graduates. Their achievements reflect not only their commitment but also the supportive environment of RAM corporate and our on-site teams. Looking ahead, we’re committed to continue supporting our RAMP graduates in their career paths and we eagerly anticipate their future contributions to the industry.

My career journey began 7/9/1990 as the assistant manager at College Arms.
I started with no experience at all in property management, and really didn’t have a clue what it was. Carolyn Whitehead trained me, and I believe she had a plan in place when she hired me. 1998 she decided to retire and informed me I was going to be the manager.
