Dear Royal American Family,

I would like to personally thank everyone for participating in today’s Webinar. I realize it can be difficult to take an hour out of your busy day; however,  this issue is important, not only to our Company, but to our Nation as a whole.

We are in unsettled times with a pandemic and social unrest occurring all over our country. It falls to each citizen to do their part to create a more inclusive and understanding environment. While you may not think, you as an individual, can do much -that is far from the truth. It all starts with one person, one act of kindness, one act of understanding and/or one act of inclusion.

We, as a company, not only have a diverse workforce, but also a very diverse resident/client base. We can always be better and that starts with understanding our personal and professional biases that we bring with us. I hope this webinar is informative and helpful to all and it makes us all think what we can do better.”

Thank you,

Joey Chapman

Please join us in welcoming Robert Oley, Royal American’s new Senior Vice President of Compliance.  In an effort to create a more cohesive and all-encompassing Compliance Department, our formerly independent HUD and Tax Credit departments will be united. Both teams will continue to run with their current leadership intact, but will now have Robert to guide and lead them as we shift to this new design. Read more

We are recognizing Hidden Cove Apartments for creatively working to host events for residents in the midst of our no-contact world these days. They offered Grab and Go breakfast to their residents and it seemed to be a hit!

Below are a few pictures of those who were recognized in the Panama City office last week.

We would like to recognize a handful of our employees who have put in the time and dedication to grow in their respective roles at Royal American. It is with great honor that we announce that Regional Managers: Rose Alcala, Denise Dean, Terrie Griffin, Isha Stewart, Jennifer Eierhart, Melissa Nichols, Tony Ferguson, and Beth Mixon have all completed and received their Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation. This is not an easy feat and requires focus and hard work. We are very proud of all 8 of them.

A little more about CAPS:

The Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) program is an in-depth review of property management principles and techniques as used by the professional supervisor. This course helps the professional make the connection between knowledge and on-the-job performance.

Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) includes:

  • Legal Responsibilities and Risk Management
  • Financial Management
  • Property Performance Management
  • Property Evaluation and Due Diligence
  • Effective Leadership

CAPS Requirements

CAPS Candidates must have:

  • worked as a multi-site supervisor for 24 months or be a CAM, ARM or RAM designate in good standing with 24 months of management experience;
  • successfully complete the five courses listed below (which total 40 hours); and
  • meet all examination requirements, within 24 months of declaring candidacy for CAPS.
