Bilingual Emotional Support Helpline

Florida Blue launched a 24-hour, free emotional support helpline for all Floridians, in partnership with New Directions Behavioral Health. Any Floridian – even if uninsured or insured by another plan – can call 833-848-1762 for support in managing feelings of stress, anxiety, grief or fear related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Counselors cannot provide information on COVID-19 testing or treatment. We have attached graphics about the helpline that you are welcome to share.

On May 8th, the Defuniak Springs Police Department visited Oakdale apartments and handed out snacks to our residents, among other local spots in the community. Manager Lori Jordan says that she works closely with her local precinct and the officers there are always thinking about her and her residents. She noted that anytime she has ever placed a call, someone has been out in under 3 minutes. She was beyond grateful for not only this event, but for all that they do.  In true hero fashion, when sharing the event, the precinct gave all the credit to Biguns Hope Disaster Response and The Matrix for donating the boxes as well as praised them for their generosity. #goodeatsandsaferstreets
