Dear Team,

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Denise Ost, our esteemed Executive Vice President, effective March 1, 2024. Denise has been an integral part of our organization for 35+ years, and her contributions have been invaluable in shaping our company’s success.

While we are sad to see Denise leave, we are also filled with gratitude for the significant impact she had on our company and team members. We are confident that Denise has laid a strong foundation for continued success in our organization.

With that said, it brings me great pleasure to share with you the exciting news of these well-deserved advancements for some of our most dedicated long-term employees.

Effective immediately, I am thrilled to announce the following promotions:

  1. Executive Vice President (EVP): Kimberly Maggard
    With unparalleled dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Kimberly has been an invaluable asset to our company for 20 years. Her strategic vision, unwavering commitment, and exceptional leadership have consistently driven our organization forward. As EVP, Kimberly will oversee all Royal American Management’s operations and support departments. She will  play a pivotal role in shaping our future direction and driving sustainable growth.
  2. Senior Vice President of Operations (SVP): Melissa Dugas (Missy)
    Throughout Missy’s tenure with us, she has demonstrated exceptional operational acumen, a keen understanding of market dynamics, and a passion for innovation. Her ability to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and deliver results has been instrumental in our success. In her new role as SVP of Operations, Missy will lead our operations team, to include four (4) RVP’s, as well as implement  operational strategies with precision and foresight.
  3. Senior Vice President of Support Services (SVP): Judy Williams
    Judy’s unwavering commitment is to provide unparalleled support services and nurturing strong relationships with our customers and partners. Her deep understanding of resident and client’s needs, coupled with her relentless pursuit of excellence, has set a benchmark for service excellence within our company. As SVP of Support Services, Judy will continue to elevate our standards of customer care and support through leading the following Royal American Management support departments: Maintenance, Training, RealPage Systems Support, Affordable Compliance Programs, Marketing, Vendor Credentialing and Contracting.

These promotions not only recognize the outstanding contributions of the individuals but also underscore our commitment to fostering talent and promoting from within. I have every confidence that Kimberly, Missy, and Judy will excel in their roles, driving our company to new heights of success.

AAGO held their annual Installation & Appreciation Dinner at the Aloft Lake Nona on January 18th 2024. Volunteers were recognized for their service in 2023 and Chairpersons, Directors, and Officers were installed for 2024.  Installation Officers were: Association Executive with FAA, Chip Tatum; and FAA President, Ricardo Alicea. We are proud to recognize three amazing team members for their new AAGO roles.

We would like to take the time to recognize Sean R. Hanks; Community Manager for Seven on Seventh for his prestigious nomination for the Housing Partner Award from the TaskForce Fore Ending Homelessness Organization. Sean will be recognized in March at the TaskForce’s “No Place Like Home” Banquet.

In his nomination letter they highlighted Sean’s efforts saying “Your commitment to the community and the significant impact of your work have not only garnered the attention of your peers but have also inspired those around you. Your nomination for this esteemed award reflects your exceptional leadership, innovative thinking, and the positive influence you have had on our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Broward County.”

It is our pleasure to celebrate the voyage of Denise Ost throughout Royal American over the past 44 years. We were honored to have the opportunity to learn her story and we are very excited to share it with you. Buckle your seatbelts and get ready for an interesting read.

Denise Ost began working for Royal American in 1980 as a Property Manager during the construction of Palmetto Apartments, a HUD property in Tallahassee. She worked on the lease up of Palmetto from the office of Mission Hills Apartments, another HUD property managed by Royal American. After five years, once the property was in good standing, Denise decided to make use of her talents at a smaller management company. That same year, she moved back to Panama City, where she was born and raised. Soon after, Denise spread her wings and ventured outside of management to work for Nerving Travel Agency for 5 years, working in the Insurance world with her brother. She then spent 6 months as a stay-at-home mom. Read more
