We are proud to share that we received the 2026 National Apartment Association (NAA) Excellence Award for Leading Organization in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. The award was presented during the NAA Excellence Awards Ceremony at Apartmentalize 2026 in New Orleans.
Royal American earned the recognition for its Advancement, Culture & Engagement (ACE) initiative, which integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion into talent development, workplace culture, leadership, and community engagement. The national award recognizes our resident initiatives, including Rising Apartment Management Professionals (RAMP), which provides free training, mentoring, paid internships, and employment opportunities in the property management industry, as well as employee development programs including Pathway to Career Development and Pathway to Leadership Excellence. We were also recognized for our inclusive workplace policies and employee engagement initiatives that create opportunities for associates and residents alike.
This national recognition is a meaningful reminder of our ongoing commitment to creating opportunities, embracing diverse perspectives, and building communities where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Last week, members of Royal American’s leadership team headed to New Orleans for Apartmentalize, the National Apartment Association’s premier annual conference.
Between the city’s world famous cuisine, vibrant jazz culture, and unforgettable atmosphere, there was plenty to enjoy, but the real highlight was connecting with rental housing professionals from across the country. Attendees gained valuable insights from inspiring guest speakers, explored innovative industry solutions, and participated in educational sessions designed to help shape the future of rental housing.
We’re excited to bring back fresh ideas, new connections, and renewed inspiration as we continue serving our residents, communities, and teams.

To me, Pride Month provides an opportunity to recognize and better understand experiences that many people face but others may never have to consider. My daughter, Rebeka, is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. She came out to her mother and me when she was 15 years old, and through her journey, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of authenticity, acceptance, and respect.
What stands out most about Rebeka is that she simply lives as herself. She does not seek to change anyone else’s opinions or beliefs, nor does she apologize for who she is. She has taught me that when people are given the opportunity to be themselves, they often reveal the qualities that matter most—kindness, character, and integrity.
As a father, she has made me incredibly proud. She has also strengthened my commitment to being an ally and to treating everyone with dignity and respect. Those same values are important in the workplace. At RAM, we serve diverse residents, work alongside people from many backgrounds, and strive to create communities where everyone feels welcome and valued. Pride Month is a reminder that understanding and inclusion begin with listening, learning, and recognizing the unique experiences that shape each person’s story.
