What does women’s history month mean to you?

Women’s History month is a time to celebrate accomplishments and contributions women have made throughout time. It is a month to appreciate the struggles experienced by our grandmothers to give us the opportunities we have today. I am hopeful that young girls are influenced and empowered to continue to forge the path to equitable treatment, respect, and recognition.

How did you get started in property management?

I moved into an apartment community as a newlywed and quickly got a dose of adulthood; money was tight. I started cleaning apartments to help pay our rent, and that led to a part time position as housekeeper and pool monitor.  I was offered a leasing position about a year later and that was the start of my career in Property Management.   Twenty-five years later, I still love what I do. What does women’s history month mean to you?

It is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of women in history.  I view it as an opportunity to acknowledge and commemorate women’s many contributions and added successes to our great nation.  It is also important to recognize their sacrifices and courageous initiatives that brought equality to women in the workplace, home, and society in general.

How did you get started in property management?

My mother was in the property management industry for many years. When I was 20 years old and attending college in  Tallahassee, my mother had a colleague reach out to her looking for a leasing consultant at an apartment community. She referred me and the rest in history.  Read more

What does women’s history month mean to you?

It means the celebration of how far we have come as women. Our struggles and accomplishments make us who we are.

How did you get started in property management?

I was on a leasing tour while looking for an apartment in Downtown Orlando. The person that toured me asked me if I had ever considered a career in property management. That was close to 17 years ago.

What positions have you held with RAM?

Community Manager, Area Manager, Regional Trainer, and current position as Director of Training & Talent Development.
