OUTSTANDING WOMEN AT RA; LORI AGUDO

AN INTERVIEW WITH LORI AGUDO

What does women’s history month mean to you?

It means the celebration of how far we have come as women. Our struggles and accomplishments make us who we are.

How did you get started in property management?

I was on a leasing tour while looking for an apartment in Downtown Orlando. The person that toured me asked me if I had ever considered a career in property management. That was close to 17 years ago.

What positions have you held with RAM?

Community Manager, Area Manager, Regional Trainer, and current position as Director of Training & Talent Development.

What challenges do you have to overcome to fulfill your role?

The challenge of time. There are seemingly never enough hours in the day! Focusing on strong organizational and time management skills is how I am to overcome this challenge.

How do you empower yourself and the women around you?

I empower myself by seeking out opportunities to better myself. I consider myself a life-long learner. There is always something new to be learned. I empower the women around me by encouraging them to chase their dreams and opening doors for them that have been opened for me.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Never give up. Life will get hard at times. Be proud of the work you do even if you’re the only one. Give yourself grace.

What advice do you have for the women of our organization?

Mentorship is extraordinarily beneficial to your professional development. Seek out a mentor if you don’t have one and be a mentor to our emerging leaders.
