Macee began her journey in the Florida multifamily housing industry in Jacksonville, FL, as a leasing consultant. Over nine years, she progressed through various roles including assistant manager, community manager, and area manager, specializing in both market rate and tax credit communities. Macee is now ready to tackle the role of Regional Manager!

MILESTONE ANNIVERSARY; CELEBRATING KERRI TOTH

 

At Royal American, we are fortunate enough to have employees with tenure extending 20 years and beyond. Their knowledge and expertise are pivotal in the success and growth of our company all the while staying tied to the deep roots it was founded on. It is our honor to interview these amazing employees and hear their stories. We are excited to share with you.

 

This week’s milestone anniversary interview to share with you is with Kerri Toth; RAM President.

 

What position did you start out in at Royal American?
Regional Manager in 1997 -left company and returned in 1999 as VP of Conventional Division
Tell us a little bit about your career journey with Royal American.
Assumed President position at the end of 2008
Share a favorite memory from your time with Royal American.
There are really too many to choose from and I do not know how to narrow it down. While working for RAM I received my Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation in 2004 and finished my bachelor’s degree in 2008. A fond memory was: Reuniting with all the RAM PC corporate employees after the hurricane Michael and learning everyone was OK. Then setting up a makeshift workspace at the Boardwalk and gaining a better understanding for and appreciation for one another as we worked through hard times together. This time also included a great level of care and support from RAM employees outside of PC. Tough situation but greatly improved comradery in the company.
Share some of your interests and hobbies outside of Royal American.
I love spending time with my grown children in Denver. I enjoy traveling, hiking, the beach, boating, and my newest hobby-bird watching (showing my age-ha! ha!).
What advice would you give to someone just getting started?
Work hard, keep learning new skills, be flexible, keep a positive attitude even in the face of adversity, maintain a healthy work-life balance, take good care of yourself- work out, eat well, and get proper rest, find a mentor to help you stay on track with your goals, and most of all – do not take things personally and understand we all make mistakes -it is ok, just use it as a learning experience. These things along with being patient and kind to others will help your career flourish.

Recognizing Riverside Apartments’ Maintenance Team

Help us recognize the Riverside Apartments’ team in Miami!

While the standard is a 28-day notice of official inspection for the new NSPIRE inspections conducted through HUD, this team only received a 24-hour notice due to a communication error from HUD. The dedicated maintenance team’s hard work and adherence to protocol paid off. Thanks to their thorough pre-inspection process and continuous monthly efforts, Riverside achieved an outstanding score of 96!

We are proud of this teams’ commitment and excellence. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to our 2024 RAMP Orlando Graduates!

Rising Apartment Management Professionals (RAMP) Graduation Ceremony

The Roberts, Orlando, FL;  April 4, 2024

As graduates, guests and staff entered the community room at The Roberts, the festive decorations, food, and music signaled a celebration: the graduation of five Orlando residents from the RAMP property management training program.

Royal American Management’s RAMP journey began in 2022 in the US Virgin Islands. Following this success, RAM offered a stateside class in Panama City, FL. Orlando’s class marks the third group to complete the comprehensive 210-hour tuition-free training, which includes online and live sessions, diversity overview, job shadowing, a paid internship, Pathway to Policy & Procedure Compliance Training, and job search readiness.

The RAMP Orlando graduation ceremony opened with a welcome address by Kimberly Maggard, Executive Vice President, who provided a brief history of the RAMP program and its benefits. Lori Agudo, Director of Training and Talent Development, highlighted the program’s phases and the graduates’ achievements. Serena Jones, Communications and Marketing Manager, Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation, shared insights and reflections and congratulated the participants.  Graduation certificates were presented by Sonya Knight, RA’s ACE Chair and Director of Resident Services. Each graduate then shared personal stories of motivation, perseverance, and optimism for future employment.  The evening concluded with remarks from Missy Dugas, Senior Vice President of Operations, who emphasized RAM’s commitment to the graduates’ professional growth and employment opportunities.

The ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of hard work, dedication, and bright futures. Overall, five RAMP graduates are now successfully employed with RAM.  Stay tuned for our next RAMP Kickoff event in Miami, FL, on July 11, 2024!
