Born in Los Angeles to Puerto Rican parents, I hold my Puerto Rican heritage close to my heart.  I grew up in Buffalo New York where I was fortunate ,  I was fortunate to be part of a thriving Puerto Rican community that filled my childhood with cherished memories during Hispanic Heritage Month. We reveled in the vibrant rhythms of Bomba and Plena, which resonated through various citywide celebrations, and immersed ourselves in the rich flavors and melodies from our homeland at Puerto Rican festivals. My mom made certain that our cultural roots remained a vital part of our household, and I’ve strived to uphold the same tradition with my family.

In 2002, at the age of 21, I made the move to Miami, where I initially felt a bit disoriented due to the city’s cultural mosaic. Nevertheless, I swiftly embraced the diversity that surrounded me. I found delight in hearing Spanish spoken everywhere I went, prompting me to quickly hone my Spanish skills. My Spanglish, which sufficed in New York, was no match for the linguistic tapestry of Miami. In 2005, I ventured into the field of property management and, to my joy, found my passion. I started with Royal American Management in 2009 as the Community Manager of Amber Garden Apartments.  As a Latina who is bilingual, I discovered that many doors opened for me.  I climbed the ladder to Regional Manager and was recently promoted to Senior Regional Director.

I am immensely proud to be Boricua! I am profoundly proud to be a Latina!

Black History brings attention to the contributions of African Americans to the United States. It’s to honor all black people from all periods of time in U.S. history. I live a life when the slaves were freed, but for some reason, we still struggle to live in this country because there are some that don’t want everyone to be free. I feel that it can get better if we can show love across the world. A quote from Dr. King lingers in my mind which says, “One day we all can be free, and treated equally in the eyes of God”. Read more
