Breast Cancer Awareness Spotlight: Angela Payne

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re honored to highlight some incredible women of Royal American who have faced breast cancer with strength, courage, and grace.
Their stories remind us of the power of faith, community, and perseverance—and inspire us to keep advocating for hope, healing, and awareness.

Angela Payne, Senior Regional Director, shared her story with us:

“After two years of battling breast cancer—with 25 rounds of chemotherapy, 26 radiation treatments, a double mastectomy, and three surgeries behind me, and one more to go—I stand here as a testament to the goodness of God’s glory and His sustaining grace. Through every step, Royal American has been a pillar of support, allowing me to fight this fight with strength and hope. I am grateful for the love, prayers, and encouragement that carried me through, and I embrace this final step with faith, knowing that my story is one of survival, resilience, and God’s unfailing mercy.

During my chemotherapy and radiation treatments, I made every effort to remain committed to my responsibilities. Rather than taking time away, I often used the infusion center as my office, continuing to respond to emails, handle calls, and stay engaged with the work. Even while undergoing treatment, I continued traveling and overseeing 13 sites, doing my best to ensure that operations moved forward smoothly. This experience was not about proving strength but about leaning on God’s grace, staying focused, and doing what I could with the support of my team and company. I am grateful for the understanding and encouragement I received throughout that time, which helped me keep going even on the hardest days.

Today, we pause to honor and remember those who bravely fought the battle against cancer but are no longer with us. Their strength, courage, and resilience left a lasting imprint on our hearts. Though their journey ended too soon, their memory continues to inspire us to fight, to advocate, and to support one another. We stand here today not only for ourselves but for them—for the lives they lived, the love they gave, and the legacy they left behind. May our commitment to hope, healing, and progress carry their light forward.”

We are honored to share Angela’s story and to celebrate her unwavering courage this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
