Clearlake Isles’ residents received free on-site COVID vaccinations today.  Community Manager Natalie Bender shares their story:

Earlier this month a representative from our local Walgreens reached out to Clearlake Isles about hosting an on-site COVID-19 vaccination clinic.  Clearlake Isles is an 84-unit senior community, and we were very excited about the opportunity for our staff and residents to receive vaccinations.  We immediately notified our residents about this opportunity. Within the first few days, we had well over 50 residents signed up. Three appointment dates were available for vaccinations–one in each month of January, February and March, allowing flexibility to our tenants to get the two-dose Pfizer vaccine.

JAN 20:  COVID-19 Vaccinations-Day One

On Vaccination Day One, several stations were set up in the office. One for final paperwork, one for verifying information, two vaccine stations and a separate area for residents to receive 15 minutes of monitoring after the vaccinations were administered.  Appointments were scheduled to ensure that the office was not overcrowded at anytime and that social distancing was carried out appropriately.

As of Day One, 56% of our residents received the first dose of the vaccine and more will get their first dose come February.

We are so thrilled and grateful that this opportunity was offered to us.  We appreciate the professional and dedicated staff at Walgreens who spent their entire day with us vaccinating our staff and residents. We are also glad that our residents took the time to get the vaccine and have been so cautious during this pandemic. Currently, there have been zero COVID cases reported by residents at Clearlake Isles.
