Education is the Key to your Future – Congratulations to All on their Designations!
Obtaining a designation in the multifamily industry is not only an important component of being successful in your position, it is viewed and valued as a high honor to obtain. It validates your knowledge, enhances your reputation and credibility, boosts your confidence and earns you respect. We would like to recognize the following on their achievements:
Jeanne Hatten, Regional Vice President for Atlanta & Jacksonville and Stephanie Jones, Regional Manager for Atlanta area obtained their Certified Apartment Portfolio (CAPS) designation. This designation will enhance your leadership skills, allow you to better interpret property results and track progress toward property or portfolio objectives. This program includes legal responsibilities, risk management, financial management, property performance management, property evaluation and due diligence, and effective leadership.
Dave Kennedy, Director of Maintenance obtained his Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) designation. This program includes maintenance and repair for the following areas: interior and exterior, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance. Maintenance expenses are the single largest controllable element in any operating budget. This course acts as an introduction for new maintenance professionals or as a refresher for the veteran employee, teaching what it takes to run a cost-effective maintenance program.
Rose Alcala, Regional Manager for the Tampa area, along with the following specialists from our Compliance Department: Nikki Lumsden, Beth Schoen, Kelsey Brites, Richard Garcia, Wilmary Santiago, and Nadine Richard, obtained their Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation. COS is a comprehensive study of HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing guidelines and regulations set forth in HUD Handbook 4350.3 REV-1 and subsequent notices, including rent calculation, eligibility, verification, recertification, tenant screening, and Fair Housing. This is the most widely sought certification in the HUD affordable housing industry.
