It is with tremendous sadness that Royal American announces the passing of a cherished member of our team, Jacqueline Shaw-Byrd. Jacqueline joined the Royal American Family on October 19, 2015 as the Assistant Manager at Briarwood Manor Apartments in Tallahassee, FL.  She was quickly promoted to Community Manager on December 1, 2015 and remained in that position until her passing on August 9, 2020. Her funeral service was held Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Quincy, FL.

Jacqueline loved butterflies and her favorite color was purple. In her free time, Jacqueline enjoyed teaching Sunday School and attending Choir at her Church.  She loved to cook for her friends and family but what she loved most was spending time with her two sons Jacary N. Byrd and Jordan N.Byrd.  Jacqueline’s newest passion was travel.

Jacqueline was a devoted member of the Royal American Family and will be greatly missed by colleagues and friends alike. She always had encouraging words for everyone around her.  She radiated positivity and challenged others to do the same. Jacqueline will truly be missed by the Royal American Family. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with her family.

“Compassionate, caring and kind is how I would describe Ms. Jackie.  She wasn’t only my boss but a good friend.  Now a days you don’t meet good genuine people, but I am so glad I got to meet and work side by side with her. “

-Demetrius Feaster, Assistant Community Manager of Briarwood Manor Apartments
